Brief outline of the members

Xavier Muñoz

Ecuadorian entrepreneur for about 20 years.  His conservation and environmental activity  has been fundamental in his professional and personal life. Xavier collaborated closely with CECIA (today Aves & Conservación) as well as with Fundaciòn Jocotoco. And without doubt, this has been an educational experience which aimed to the conservation of important forests. The goals accommplished were  definitely positive to the environment.

His biggest motivation as part of Fundación Sembrando Esperanza, is to imprint and execute during the next 20 years, actions which will contribute to solve some of the environmental problems that our country and planet are in need of. Some of these being deforestation and the near extinction of mammals and birds
“The challenge is huge but my will is even bigger”, he says.

Rabindranath Rodríguez:

Ecuadorean, Civil Engineer and Economist, currently retired.

After 30 years of being at the service of different companies in the construction and commercial fields, I decided to improve my qualifications by getting a degree in Economics. These studies put me in contact with the concept of sustainable economy, and allowed me to obtain a deeper knowledge of environmental  and sustainability issues. That generated an internal need to actively cooperate towards the defense of the environment and the sustainability  as a responsible model that allows the use of natural resources with little or no impact on the right of future generations to use and enjoy them.

The best option: to join a team that shares the same ideas and thoughts of responsibly defending Nature, that's how I joined the "Sembrando Esperanza" Foundation.

Luz Álvarez:

Chilean educator, I have worked in the private sector in areas of logistics, production and customer service.

I have not been directly involved in conservation organizations, but I find some of them where “mission” is set aside, and  personal interests and ambition prevail

I find Ecuadorian Conservation Foundation “Planting Hope” is growing up in a  different way, with transparency and responsability, that motivates me to be part of this challenge.

Felipe Durini Andrade

Ecuadorean, practicing attorney with more than 10 years of professional experience. Founding member of DURINI & GUERRERO ABOGADOS, with headquarters in the city of Quito, and correspondent offices in the main cities of Ecuador.

My career revolves around legal consulting services and court patronage in the many different areas of law, especially constitutional, civil, commercial, tax-law and the alternative solution of legal conflicts through arbitration and mediation.

Like in any other career, it is imperative to work in sync with society and nature, trying to maintain and protect the balance that any ecosystem deserves. This type of behavior allows us to protect our institutions, thus seeking an environment of mutual benefit in the long term.

My interest in becoming a part ofFundación Sembrando Esperanza, represents my opportunity to be a part of a place where its members, friends and contributors promote and execute projects that are focused in making people interact with nature which contributes towards a higher awareness and commitment for a better present and future.
